German Donation Boosts Digital Learning at Lycée de Ruhango Ikirezi TSS

Ruhango, Rwanda – July 18, 2025: Lycée de Ruhango Ikirezi has taken a significant step forward in advancing digital education, thanks to a generous donation of IT hardware from the German SES Support Association. The donation, consisting of desktop computers and monitors, was made possible through the ongoing partnership with the Senior Expert Service (SES), Germany’s leading volunteer organization for retired professionals.

“Since our collaboration with SES began, many things have changed for the better,” said Mr. RWEMAYIRE REKERAHO Pierre Claver, Director and Chairman of APEJERWA, the founder of Lycée de Ruhango Ikirezi TSS. “I was overwhelmed with joy and pride upon receiving the IT equipment. It motivates me even more to strengthen our skills training programs and pursue our dream of becoming a Centre of Excellence in quality education in Rwanda.”

The SES Support Association, closely affiliated with the SES, supports international development efforts by sending experienced professionals to institutions worldwide. To date, Lycée de Ruhango Ikirezi TSS has welcomed 34 senior SES experts who have conducted various training sessions for teachers, enhancing the school’s capacity in technical and vocational education.

This latest donation is designed to create a better working environment and foster digital skills among both teachers and students. “By equipping our team with modern IT tools, we are not only improving computer literacy but also promoting digital inclusion. We want to empower our students with the digital skills necessary to thrive in today’s world. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge the digital divide and offer equal opportunities in the digital age”, RWEMAYIRE noted.

He extended heartfelt thanks to SES and its Support Association, emphasizing that this act of generosity will have a lasting impact on the school’s educational mission and the future of its students.

Lycée de Ruhango-IKIREZI TSS is a TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) school located in Ruhango District, Southern Province, Rwanda. It offers various technical and vocational programs with a focus on equipping students with practical skills for the job market. The school emphasizes providing a good learning environment and meeting the educational needs of its students.
