Rwanda Polytechnic Celebrates Record Number of Graduates Poised to Fuel National Development
Kigali, Rwanda – May 29, 2025 – Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) held its 8th graduation ceremony today, celebrating the achievements of over 4,500 graduates ready to contribute to Rwanda’s economic growth and future prosperity.
“It is a great honor and a privilege to address you on this special occasion,” Said Education Minister Joseph Nsengimana. “Today we celebrate not only academic achievement but also the promise of a brighter, more skilled and self-reliant Rwanda. Rwanda Polytechnic stands as a beacon of hope and of transformation in our nation’s education sector.”
The graduating class included over 1,400 students who completed BTEC programs, highlighting the growing strength of Rwanda’s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system. The Minister emphasized the graduates’ readiness to enter a dynamic labor market and contribute to the nation’s ambitious Vision 2050 and national strategic transformation.
“These young professionals will go on to shape our industries, energize our innovation ecosystem and contribute meaningfully to the goals of Vision 2050 and our national strategic transformation,” he said. “To the graduates, today is not an end but a beginning.”
Addressing the graduates directly, Minister Nsengimana encouraged them to utilize their newly acquired technical expertise, creativity, and resilience to become leaders in entrepreneurship, innovation, and community advancement. He challenged them to apply their knowledge with purpose, skill with integrity, and passion with perseverance.
The Minister also acknowledged the dedication of the faculty and leadership of Rwanda Polytechnic, praising their commitment to academic excellence and ensuring that education remains aligned with the demands of the labor market. He highlighted how their work strengthens the national agenda of positioning TVET as a powerful driver of inclusive economic growth.
Reaffirming the Ministry of Education’s commitment to the higher education sector, Minister Nsengimana announced plans to expand access, improve infrastructure, and deepen partnerships with industry. The Ministry envisions Rwanda Polytechnic thriving as a hub of innovation, applied research, and talent creation.
The graduation ceremony served as a powerful reminder of Rwanda’s commitment to investing in its youth and equipping them with the skills needed to drive economic growth and build a prosperous future for the nation. As the graduates embark on their careers, they carry the hopes and expectations of a nation that believes in their potential to shape a brighter tomorrow.
