Africa Emerges as a Global AI Contender at GAICA 2025
Africa is making its mark in the global AI landscape with the upcoming Global AI Congress Africa (GAICA 2025) at Sousse. Over 6000 participants, including 134 international speakers, 110 exhibitors, and more than 200 startups, are expected to attend this landmark three-day event.
Organized by Novation City and TPM Events, and supported by GIZ and Tunisia’s Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, GAICA 2025 aims to showcase Africa’s practical, inclusive AI applications in smart agriculture, digital health, sustainable cities, and fintech.
“Our goal is to position Tunisia as a technological hub bridging Africa and the world,” said Hichem Turki, CEO of Novation City.
The program features keynotes and panels from over 130 AI experts, three thematic halls for technology, startups, and business networking, as well as B2B matchmaking connecting African startups with global investors. Workshops, hackathons, and masterclasses will train the next generation of African AI engineers and data scientists.
“We aim to catalyze an African AI ecosystem capable of developing homegrown solutions and competing globally. The event has already attracted tech giants including NVIDIA and Meta,” said Anas Rachdi, Director of Innovation at Novation City. GAICA 2025 is designed as a springboard for African startups, connecting them with international partners and investment opportunities. By combining innovation, expertise, and collaboration, the congress seeks to firmly position Africa on the global AI map, with Tunisia serving as a strategic gateway to the continent.
