Made in Rwanda: Sina Gerard Impresses with Quality and Creativity at Expo 2025
At the bustling Rwanda International Trade Fair (Expo 2025) in Gikondo, Kigali, one exhibitor continues to captivate crowds with a blend of tradition, innovation, and quality. Sina Gerard Enterprise, widely known as Nyirangarama, is drawing hundreds of visitors daily to its booth, thanks to an impressive lineup of locally made food, beverages, and inventive products.
Renowned entrepreneur Dr. Sina Gerard, the founder of Entreprise Urwibutso, has long been a staple at Rwanda’s annual Expo. This year, he is making headlines with new offerings including unfermented sugarcane juice and a handmade wooden bicycle crafted from local timber, both proudly promoting the “Made in Rwanda” brand.

“I came here specifically to taste the sugarcane juice made by Sina Gerard, it’s excellent,” said Gloria Mbabazi, a visitor to the fair. “His passion fruit juice is also exceptional. What amazed me even more is the wooden bicycle he brought; people keep stopping by to admire it. He always introduces something new and refined.”
The 28th edition of the Rwanda International Trade Fair officially opened on August 5 and runs until August 17. This year’s edition has attracted 475 exhibitors, including 97 international participants from 19 countries, with first-time appearances from Cameroon and Saudi Arabia.
Sina Gerard, the entrepreneur behind the Nyirangarama brand, says his company’s success is rooted in continuous research, innovation, and a commitment to community development.
“At Enterprise Sina Gerard Urwibutso, we never sleep. We always strive to do more for Rwanda’s development,” he said. “This year, we introduced unfermented sugarcane juice and a wooden bicycle made entirely from Rwandan wood, part of our efforts to promote local creativity and craftsmanship.”

He added that his products have also gained international appeal, with strong demand in European markets such as Italy. “I will soon travel to Algeria to present our innovations and showcase Rwandan excellence in food and beverages,” he noted.
Beyond his commercial ventures, Sina Gerard has established the Sina Gerard Foundation, which trains young people in agriculture, livestock, technology, and crafts. He has also invested in social initiatives such as the Urwibutso Youth Church and the Urwibutso Educational Complex, serving both primary and secondary students in his native Rulindo District.

Nyirangarama’s impact extends into sports as well. The company sponsors a football team that recently advanced to Rwanda’s Second Division, with aspirations to reach the top tier. Meanwhile, its athletics team made headlines during this year’s Kigali Peace Marathon, where a young runner beat strong Kenyan competition to secure first place.
Each year, Sina Gerard uses the Expo as a platform to unveil new products. Among the most talked-about this year is locally produced grape wine, which has steadily gained popularity across Rwanda.
As the Expo continues to draw massive crowds, Sina Gerard’s booth remains a top destination, a testament to the power of local innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering dedication to quality.
