President Kagame Attends Global Investment Summit in Saudi Arabia
President Paul Kagame has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the Future Investment Initiative (FII), a major global platform that convenes prominent leaders and influential figures in world finance, technology, business, and governance.
Upon his arrival, President Kagame was received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders held bilateral discussions focused on further strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and Saudi Arabia in key areas of mutual interest.
The summit, now in its ninth edition, will run for two days beginning October 27. It serves as a strategic forum for shaping the future of global investment, encouraging dialogue on innovative policies and sustainable development. This year’s theme is “Forging a New Path for Economic Growth and Development: The Key to Success.”
As part of the opening sessions, President Kagame will join his counterparts from Guyana, Colombia, Bulgaria, and Albania in a high-level panel titled “What Are the Real Benefits and Risks to Economic Security?” The discussion will examine the dynamics of international trade, mechanisms for safeguarding national interests, and strategies to ensure shared economic prosperity.
Later, President Kagame will take part in another global leadership dialogue themed “Is Humanity Headed in the Right Direction?” Among the notable participants are Guyana’s President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, renowned investor Ray Dalio, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The session will be moderated by Richard Attias, CEO of the FII Institute.
Established in 2017, the FII Institute hosts this annual gathering with a mission to champion investments that deliver long-term, sustainable solutions to global challenges. The organization’s work is centered around four critical pillars: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Education, Healthcare, and Sustainable Development.
