RWANDA MINING FOOTBALL COMPETITION 2025 SEMI-FINAL SPOTS SECURED

The Rwanda Mining Football Competition 2025 has concluded its recent rounds, solidifying the four teams that will advance to the semi-finals. Trinity Rutongo Mines FC secured a decisive victory over GMDC, booking their place alongside Trinity Nyakabingo, CEMINYAKI, and RMC, which qualified for the final four as the Best Loser.

The results confirmed several key outcomes across the competition:

  • Trinity Rutongo Dominates GMDC: In a thrilling semi-final clash held on November 9, 2025, Rutongo Mines FC defeated GMDC with a 3-0 score at their home stadium. This victory, combined with their 3-1 win in the first leg, propelled Rutongo Mines FC to dominate the semifinals with an outstanding aggregate score of 6:1.
  • CEMINYAKI Overcomes POWER M: CEMINYAKI advanced with an aggregate score of 5:3 over POWER M. This result was built upon a 3:1 victory in the home leg and a 2:2 draw when playing away.
  • Trinity Nyakabingo Edges RMC: Trinity Nyakabingo secured their semi-final spot with a 4:3 aggregate win against RMC. While RMC won their home match 3:0, Trinity Nyakabingo responded with a crucial 4:0 victory in their home leg.

Following these results, the teams qualified for the semi-finals are Trinity Nyakabingo, Trinity Rutongo, CEMINYAKI, and RMC (As the Best Loser).

Confidence and Community Spirit

Rutongo Mines FC management expressed high confidence following their commanding performance. Manager Mrs. Uwimana Jeanne emphasized that their impressive scoring record was a result of thorough preparation, stating that they “believe that the trophy will come home”. She also underscored the tournament’s importance in fostering social bonds among workers and promoting an active, positive community lifestyle.

Rutongo’s Coach, Habumugisha Theoneste, praised his team’s modern style of play and strategy, noting that they “anticipated what the opponents would do and trained accordingly”. He also shared the victory with the team’s leadership, thanking them for continuous support, and hoping to maintain momentum to win the cup in the finals.

Meanwhile, GMDC FC’s manager, Safari Augustin, acknowledged their loss but expressed gratitude for the lively fan turnout and the tournament’s critical role in community building. GMDC coach Pascal Uwimana encouraged his players to improve and train harder, aiming for better performance in the next competition.
